Made in Germany | Viva Espania – Spanish Family Business invests in Berlin

Spanish property investor Carlos is passionate about historic buildings and for the past two years has been cooperating with the German Meermann real estate group, and now owns 95 percent of it.

He is president of Chamartin, which also builds new office buildings, hotels and congress centers to rent. The Berlin project has cost 600 million euros. Cutillas says the advantage of the German property market is that prices are relatively low and more stable than back home in Spain. He does not think that it will be affected by the international credit crunch. Alexa Meyer met the Spanish investor to find out why he has chosen Berlin and what fascinates him about Germany. This is the 6th in our investor series: “Welcome to Germany”.

Paella. how to cook Paella, authentic Spanish Paella plant

The Paella plant (latin name: Turpis nidor posteri sero) The authentic paella plant which inspired one of the greatest dishes ever. The original recipe is made with the beautiful white seeds of the Paella plant. Many years ago the Phloxypolyphenus virus blighted the Paella plant and due to a severe shortage of the Paella Plant people substituted Paella seed with white rice.

Now, thanks to major advances in the art of horticultural science, a new hybrid strain of the Paella plant flourishes, so much so, they are now on general sale again. Great!

1 paella Plant is enough to satisfy 4 people.
You will need:
1 x Paella plant (Turpis nidor posteri sero)
1 ltr chicken stock
1 pinch Safron
5 cloves of garlic crushed
3 large tomatoes
Meat (pork or chicken)
Prawns, assorted shellfish
Onion
Salt
Pepper
Olive Oil
Garnish
Method:
Heat the pan add olive oil, add onions and brown. Add meat and brown, add garlic, tomatoes and simmer.

Add the Paella Plant seeds, making sure to cover in the mixture in the pan.

Add safron and stock
Cover and simmer on low heat for 20 minutes.

Uncover and add seafood. Cover for 5 minutes. Serve.

Enjoy.

PS Any problems finding a paella plant, email me doyle@hotmail.co.uk as I have a list of stores who have a permenant stock. If you live in the south of England and into mainland Europe, you may be able to (frost free areas only) grow your own. They are similar in looks to Yukka plants and like a fairly similar climate. Fruit flourishes after 4 years.

Cheap houses for sale Malaga, cheap property sales in Andalucia

BARGAIN PROPERTY FOR SALE MALAGE

http://www.gatewaytoandalucia.com

3 storey village house in the charming village of Cuevas De San Marcos in the north of Malaga Province, and hour from both Malaga and Granada airports, and on the edge of the Sierra Subbetica natural Park, and Iznajar lake. Cuevas De San Marcos is a large bustling village set in beautiful olive farming country, with everything that you would need, medical centre, school, village swimming pool, shops, restaurants and cafes.

The house is in the centre of the village and has been tastefully renovated within the last 4 years, with new electrics, new plumbing, new tiling and new furniture. The master bedroom has air conditioning, and the owners are prepared to leave the house with a great deal of furniture and white goods.

The house is entered through a traditional Spanish tiled entrance hall of roughly 3m by 1.5m to a second set of double wooden doors. The main reception room is around 3m by 5m with an attractive open staircase and leads off to the kitchen, bathroom, back yard and a front room. The front room is 3.5 by 2.2m and currently used as a study, but could become another bedroom or a dining room if needed. The kitchen is 2.2m by 3.8m, and the kitchen units are built in the Spanish Style. There is a large storage pantry set in the wall, and a woodburning stove. All the kitchen white goods are included in the sale of the house. The bathroom is reached via a small 2m by 2m vestibule, which also has a door to the back yard. The bathroom is 2.5m by 1.1m and has a sink, toilet and walk in shower.

The back yard is roughly 3m square, and undercover. It houses the boiler, which is 4 years old and has been regularly serviced. There is a shed of roughly 3m by 1.8m off this yard, which is used for storage and laundry, and has a washing machine and tumble dryer, which again would be included in the sale.

Upstairs, there is a 3.3m by 1.6m wide landing leading off to 3 large bedrooms and stairs to the top floor. The front bedroom is 3.4 by 3.5m and has air conditioning, and 2 traditional spanish doors leading onto two balconies overlooking the street. Bedroom 2 is 3m by 4m at the rear of the house, and has a smaller 3m x 2.5m room leading off of it, which is currently used for storage, but could very easily be turned into an ensuite bathroom or family bathroom. The third bedroom is 3.1 x 2.2m.

A flight of stairs lead up to the large top floor lounge of 3.5m by 4.5m, with views across the valley. A door leads out onto the large 4m square terrace. There is a wooden pergola for shading during the summer, and the terrace is south facing, making it a year round sun trap.

This house is ideal as a holiday or full time home, and needs no work doing to it to move straight in and live comfortably in it. For more details please contact Robin at the following.
